Feinberg, Abraham, b. 1899-1986 : Abraham L. Feinberg, born in 1899 at Bellaire, Ohio, graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.A. and did post-graduate work at the Universities of Chicago and Columbia. He was ordained Rabbi at the Hebrew Union College in 1924. He served several American congregations before he was called to Holy Blossom Temple, Toronto in 1943. As a noted preacher, social activist and commentator, Rabbi Feinberg addressed many of the major issues of the day including the civil rights movement, the Rosenberg spy trial and contemporary Jewish life in urban Canada.

He was a regular contributor to the Jewish Standard, Saturday Night and the Canadian Jewish Review. He appeared on CKEY radio, Toronto talking about such topics as religion in the public schools, Jewish-Christian relations and the Israeli-Arab conflict. He was involved in a number of community organizations serving in such capacities as chairman of the Toronto Committee for Disarmament, and vice-president of the Toronto Association for Civil Liberties.

Rabbi Feinberg passed away in 1986.
