Accession was originally part of the Yukon Consolidated Gold Co. (YCGC) collection acquired by the National Archives in the 1972-1974 period. However, these records were left behind at the YCGC Bear Creek location. A portion of the collection, primarily mechanical drawings, were transferred to the Yukon Territorial Archives in 1982. The Canadian Parks Service had this remaining portion of the collection microfilmed in 1985.
The 1480 items are organized into three main series and 29 sub series. Sub series: 1. Klondike River -- 2. Bear Creek -- 3. Hunker Creek -- 4. Last Chance Creek -- 5. Gold Bottom Creek -- 6. All Gold Creek -- 7. Dominion Creek -- 8. Gold Run Creek -- 9. Sulphur Creek -- 10. Indian River -- 11. Eureka Creek -- 12. Quartz Creek -- 13. Eldorado Creek -- 14. Bonanza Creek -- 15. Dawson -- 16. Yukon River -- 17. Tombstone -- 18. Clinton Creek -- 19. B.C. -- 20. Mechanical -- 21. Keno Hill -- 22. Alaska -- 23. Geological Survey of Canada -- 24. Undefined -- 25. Yukon -- 26. Buildings -- 27. Interpretation plans -- 28. Dredge 12 -- 29. Dredge 4.
The records are arranged as follows on the microfilm reels: Reel 1. Plan 1.A1.1 to 2.A22.5 -- Reel 2. Plan 2.A22.6 to 3.A14.27 -- Reel 3. Plan 3.A14.28 to 3.A29.55 -- Reel 4. Plan 3.A29.56 to 3.A29.462. Each reel contains a mixture of cartographic material, architectural and technical drawings.
The acquisition documentation folder contains a copy of the index to the collection, prepared by the Klondike National Historic Sites.

Custodial history:

The Klondike National Historic Sites loaned the original microfilm in Oct. 1993 to the National Archives to prepare a copy for reference. The original maps, plans and drawings are scheduled for transfer to the National Archives in 2009.

Location of originals note:

In Nov. 1993, the original four microfilm reels were returned to the Klondike Historic Sites. Researchers wishing reproductions of the contents of the microform reels will be referred to the Klondike National Historic Sites.
