Fonds consists of textual records of the Royal Canadian Academy including minute books, constitution and annual reports; correspondence and memoranda; membership records; exhibition records and history; scrapbooks, clippings and printed material.

Fonds consists of photographic material depicting copies of works of art submitted for or displayed in the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) exhibitions from 1880-1975, various artists, jury and committee members.

Fonds also includes one bronze Royal Canadian Academy of Arts Centennial medal designed by Dora de Pédery-Hunt.

Royal Canadian Academy of Arts : The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) was founded in 1880 under the patronage of the Governor-General of Canada, the Marquis of Lorne, and his wife, Princess Louise. Its objective was to encourage the development of Canadian art through the founding of a National Gallery, the establishment of artists schools, and the holding of annual exhibitions. Its members, initially drawn from the Ontario Society of Artists and the Art Association of Montréal, were required to submit diploma works for the National Gallery collection and this practice continued until 1976. Originally representing painters, sculptors, architects and designers, the RCA has expanded its membership to include all disciplines in the visual arts, including photography, fibre art, ceramics, costume and stage design.

In 1987, the RCA established a national headquarters at Academy House in Toronto.
