A winter scene depicting men and women in their sleighs in front of Dalhousie College. Composition and location are similar to the 1839 view of "Tandem Club Assembling in front of Dalhousie College" by William Eagar. Eager's composition was published as a lithograph in Halifax, c. 1841. Belfield's composition depicts different figures, with costumes updated to the 1850s and a spire appears behind the college building., The image is accomanied by a loose caption that reads "Dalhousing Square, Halifax N.S." This caption is from the recto of the original backing., Item is laid down and matted.
