Sujbect depicts a landscape with an olive tree in the center of the composition. The olive tree is in a stone garden and has a right angle in its trunk. To the left of the central olive tree are bushes of rosemary., Apulia is a region in Italy., It is unclear when Lady Gordon would have been in Italy. However, a number of watercolours included in this album were done in Corsica., Rachel Emily Shaw-Lefevre married Sir Arthur Hamilton Gordon.
