The foreground figures are the same (in reverse) as those that appear in the lithograph titled "View of Quebec" after a drawing by Captain Beaufoy and printed by Day & Haghe (London, 1843). See R9266-1994 for a reproduction of the Beaufoy print and see the NA holdings for the print. For other copies of this print see R9266-1995 and R9266-1996. Note, however, that the title inscriptions on R9266-1997 and R9266-1996, though they have the same wording, are different. That on R9266-1997 is on two lines, while that on R9266-1996 is in four lines. R9266-1995 has been cropped to image, so no inscription remains.
