The prints in this album document Canadian army activities and operations in Italy from May 5, 1944 - July 31, 1944. Scenes documented in the album include the advance through the Hitler Line, Rome, Florence, Castiglione del Lago, and the Arno Sector. Photographs of Canadian Woman's Army Corps personnel arriving in Naples, performing tasks, and visiting Pompeii, are included in the album. Other scenes photographed include atrocities committed by Germans retreating from San Pancrazio, Lily Pons visiting entertaining servicemen, King George visiting and inspecting Canadian troops, opening of the Canada Club on Dominion Day, burial of Italian partisans, and soldiers enjoying leisure activities.
