Andrusyshen of the University of Saskatchewan.Provenance:Biography/Administrative history:Kirkconnell, Watson, 1895-1977 : Watson Kirdconnell, born in Port Hope, Ont., was educated at Queen's, the Toronto Conservatory of Music and Oxford. He taught in the English and Classics departments at Wellesley College University of Manitoba, 1922-1940, and McMaster University, 1940-1948. He served as president of Acadia University, 1948-1964. He has written works on East European subjects and has translated many literary works from this region. He was elected F.R.S.C. in 1936, and was awarded the Lorne Pierce Medal in 1942.
